Privacy policy

Hodimo helps people meet up for small, real-life plans. This page explains what we collect, why, who can see it and how to remove it. If anything is unclear, write to support@hodimo.app.
What we collect
- Your profile: your name, photo, city, About text, interests, languages and anything else you add to your profile.
- Your phone number, if you add it: other people see it only when you are the host or a guest going to the same event, so you can reach each other on the day.
- Events and chats: events you create or join, messages, photos, polls and lists you share in an event’s chat, and the costs you add to split.
- Reviews: ratings you give and receive after an event. Missed events are noted privately and are not shown on your profile.
- Payment details you choose to share: for example a bank account or payment link shown to the people settling up with you. Hodimo does not process payments.
What we use only when you ask
- Location: only while you use the app, to show events near you and when you send your location or use “On my way” in a chat. Live location stops when you turn it off or arrive.
- Camera and photos: only for the photos you take or pick, and for receipts you scan to split a bill.
- Health: only the run, ride or hike route you pick to add to an event. We never read other health data.
- Files: only the route file (such as GPX) you open in the app.
Who can see what
- Your profile and reviews are visible to other Hodimo users.
- A public event can be seen by anyone in the app. A private event can be seen only by the people invited.
- An event’s chat can be seen only by the host and the guests going.
- If you block someone, they can no longer see your profile or your events, and you can’t see theirs.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your data and don’t show ads. We share data only with the companies that run Hodimo’s servers, send notifications and provide maps, and only so they can do that job for us. We may also share data if the law requires it, or to protect people from harm.
How long we keep it
- Event chats close 7 days after the event.
- Your profile and reviews stay until you delete your account.
- When you delete your account, we remove your profile, photos and phone number. Past events show you as “Former guest” or “Former host”, so the other people’s history still makes sense.
Your choices and rights
You can edit or remove your profile details in the app at any time, and delete your account in Settings. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to support@hodimo.app. If you live in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Hodimo is for people aged 16 and over. If you believe a younger person has an account, tell us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
